NEW TO SCOUTING?

Schiff Scout Reservation - November 10-12, 2006

Troop 787 returned to Schiff Scout Reservation to take part in another class given by the Sagamore Service Troop.  As we have done in the last 4 visits  (Indian Lore, Emergency Preparedness, Backpacking and Cooking) we took advantage of the services of the Sagamore Service Troop.  During our last few visits we were told that we should take Pioneering because it is tons of fun. Not only did the past instructors instruct well but they gave us good advice. Pioneering was FUN, the leaders were very helpful and we learned how the knots we are taught at meetings can come in handy. Thank you to Assistant Scoutmaster Mr. Haq who is our knot expert.  Our first project was a kitchen that was a troop project. The second project was a swing. Only 3 of our scouts made the swing because the others thought it was "stupid".  It was stupid until they wanted to swing on it and join the fun.

THANK YOU to Mr. Troll and the Sagamore Service Troop for such dedication, patience and understanding. These men do an awesome job!
